Ehh i've been thinking alot these days, most of my thoughts about becoming a marine biologist. Sounds pretty cool right? The first few images I get would be...
Case1: Operating on a rare fish ( I reckon I got that from one of the comprehension passages I did) Case2: Swimming with sharks and abserving their habitat! Case3: Rescuing a blue whale
Hahah for those whom are wondering where on earth did I get such a crazy idea, well, I heard it from TV. *blush* In fact, it was from a scene during NDP whereby they show little children with big dreams and then there was this girl standing infront of an aquarium saying 'I want to be a marine biologist'. And I told myself, 'Yeah I wanna be a marine biologist too!!!' Hahah instant copycating huh?
Anyway, all these thus lead to my research on becoming a marine biologist. Alright I didn't have a single clue of that occupation initially so, I went around asking fellow fencers and I just did some surfing on the Net. Hmm... it turns out that I really have to be one in a million to be in this field. Furthermore, I doubt getting local degrees would do me any help.
What the.. you know what Wei Wen said?!
Joan: Weiwen! I want to be a marine biologist. Weiwen: Aiya Joan.. I tell you are, dreams can change very easily one. Primary one I want to be Superman. Primary two, I change- I want to be spiderman. Primary three, I want to be THE FLASH (what's that?!) Then Primary four, I decided I want to be a policeman! Primary five, I change again...Spiderman!! See la, now i'm a policeman. (yeah he's working in the police unit in NS and is damn proud of his bright yellow raincoat which he uses to stop traffic. heh loser right?)
Hahah I love weiwen man! Ah, don't get it wrong, the whole Nat team knows we're damn close friends and we always hang out at 7-11 for a drink after training. But that's besides the point. The point is, it'd be rather impossible to get into that field and besides, i'm still young to make career decisions now. Yes, reminds me.. I haven't even gotten an O level cert.
Oh well, maybe that little girl on TV would get to be the marine biologist instead since she's lucky enough to get selected to proclaim it on air.
